For the lovers of nature and archeology, lacandon jungle in mexico is the perfect place to visit. The lacandon jungle, is located in southern mexico, from Chiapas to the country of Guatemala. This place is filled with lots of nature wonders and lots of biodiversity which makes this rainforest, the biggest and the most beautiful forest in north america. This amazing natural place is known for its huge population of different species, its amazing waterfalls and its innovated rivers. The verity of birds and jaguars is what makes lacandon jungle so unique and special.

Why is it famous

Lacandon jungle is the largest rainforest in  north america, and it is well known for the "montes azules" of blue mountains. This mexican jungle contains 1300 tree species, 33% of mexican bird species, 25% of all mexican animals and 10% of mexican fishes (Gomez). This jungles contains many archeological sites for example Palenque and Bonanpak, where thousands of people come and visit the mayan archeological objects. It has an established protection for Scarlet Macaw, or guacamayas. Not only that, but jaguars are also an important and symbolic animal for the Lacandon jungle, and it is also the reason that this rainforest is so unique. 


Tourism

What brings a lot of tourism to the Lacandon jungle, are the amazing archeological sites, where lots of archeologist can view where the mayans and the aztecs tribe developed. Rafting and swimming in the Rio Lacanja, is also a huge entertainment on the Lacandon jungle. What really is special about this place, is how the nature and the huge verity of species are been protected, thousands of different trees and thousands of different animals are been protected and care on this amazing jungle forest.
